Vinkel has Proportional Oldstyle, Proportional Lining (as default), and Small Capital figures, plus all three sets as Tabular Figures. Furthermore, the tabular figures are of equal width in all the weights. There are also Superscript, Numerator, Denominator and Inferior figures.

Vinkel has the basic ligatures. Arrows with open and closed circles come with all weights, as well as boxes, circles, triangles etc.

Saku Heinänen works as a graphic designer and type designer. In the past years, he has been involved in many editorial designs, magazine launches and redesigns. He has also created visual identities for companies, organizations and events.

At the moment, Saku is focusing in type design. Freya is his first typeface family, and it is published by Village. Vinkel is a large sans serif family, published by the Finnish type foundry Typolar. In March 2012, his extensive custom type family for Yle (Finnish Broadcasting Company) was launched.

Saku is professor at the Graphic Design faculty of Aalto University. His responsibilities are typography, type design and publication design. Saku also lectures and runs workshops for other educational purposes.
